Grand Master Fabian Nunez

Grand Master Fabian Nunez was promoted to 9th Degree Black Belt on July 25, 2021. He is the President of the International Taekwon-Do Federation America (ITFA). Grand Master Nunez is also a member of ITF. He is certified by the ITF as an international instructor, examiner, and has over 30 years of teaching experience. Grand Master Nunez was fortunate enough have learned from and trained under the founder of Taekwon-Do, General Choi Hong Hi. He also traveled and assisted General Choi with pattern seminars nationally and internationally.


Grand Master Nunez's commitment to his training, his talent, and his dedication to the martial art of Taekwon-Do offered him the opportunity to compete for a spot on the USA Team on two separate occasions, 1987 and 1990. Master Nunez won his place on the USA Team to compete at the ITF World Championships in 1987 in Athens, Greece where he won Gold medals and in 1990 in Montreal, Canada where he won Silver and Bronze medals. He also competed in the Taekwon-Do World Cup in 1986 in Puerto Rico where he won Gold and Silver Medals.


While Grand Master Nunez was training and competing in TKD he also crossed over to kickboxing and began a successful career in the ring. He became a professional kickboxer in 1981, joined the circuit and won the W.K.A. Junior Welterweight World Kickboxing Championship Title in 1989. He finished his career with a record of 23 -2. As a result of his accomplishments in the ring and his commitment to the art of TKD, he was inducted into the International Karate Hall of Fame in 1989.


In addition to being a TKD competitor, he has had the honor of coaching the USA TKD Team. He was selected as a Team coach in 1994, 1999, 2001 and was USA Head Coach for the 2015 and 2017 ITF World Championships. Grand Master Nunez's teams and individuals have won gold, silver and bronze medals in World Championships and World Cups.
